Makes we take

Named, so you are not guessing

Most shop websites say “we service import and European vehicles” and leave you to find out by phone. Here is the actual list, and the work we are actually known for on each.

01

BMW & Mini

Timing chains and guides, VANOS, valve cover and oil filter housing leaks, N20, N54, N55, N63 and B58 work, plus the tuning that goes with it.

02

Mercedes-Benz & AMG

Balance shaft and timing work, cam adjusters, supercharger and turbo service, and driveline work on the AMG cars.

03

Audi & Volkswagen

Carbon cleaning, cam follower and timing service, 2.0T and V6 work, and quattro tuning on a dyno that actually reads all four wheels.

04

Porsche

Engine and driveline work, cooling and forced induction. Tell us the chassis when you call and we will tell you straight whether it is a job for us.

05

Land Rover & Range Rover

Air suspension, timing, cooling and driveline. Plenty of shops here quietly turn these away; we say plainly that we take them.

06

Forced induction, any make

Turbo and supercharger service, fitment and repair, with the fuel and cooling sized to match and the calibration written in-house.

Maintenance, repair and the heavy work

One shop for the whole car, not just the hard part

Most European owners end up running two shops: one for the routine work, another for the day the engine has to come apart. Apex is both. Oil services, brakes, fluids, cooling, suspension, electrical and diagnostics are ordinary work here — and so are timing chains, cam and valvetrain, transmission internals and forced induction.

That is worth more than the convenience of one phone number. The shop doing your maintenance is the one that catches the leak before it becomes a timing job — and when it does become one, the machine work happens on our own campus instead of sitting in another shop’s queue.

  • Routine maintenance — oil services, fluids, filters, brakes
  • Diagnostics, cooling, suspension and electrical repair
  • Engine building and machine work in-house, not subcontracted
  • Timing, cam and valvetrain work as a complete job
  • Transmission internals rather than replace-and-hope
  • Written, itemized estimate before anything comes apart
  • Finished on the AWD Dynojet when the job calls for calibration

Questions we get every week

Which European makes do you work on?

BMW and Mini, Mercedes-Benz and AMG, Audi and Volkswagen, Porsche, and Land Rover and Range Rover. If your car is European and the job is mechanical, ask — we would rather tell you honestly that something is outside what we do than take the car and find out later.

Do you work on Land Rover and Range Rover?

Yes. A lot of shops in this area quietly decline them, which is exactly why we say plainly that we take them. Air suspension, timing, cooling and driveline work on Land Rover and Range Rover are all jobs we do.

Is Apex a general repair shop?

Yes — for European cars we do the routine work as well as the heavy work. Oil services, brakes, fluids, filters, cooling, suspension, electrical and diagnostics are day-to-day jobs here. What sets us apart is what happens when the routine visit turns up something bigger: you are already at the shop that can do the timing chain or the transmission, with the machine work on site.

Why bring a European car to a performance shop instead of the dealer?

Because the jobs these cars actually fail on are engine and drivetrain jobs. A timing chain on an N20 or an N63, a Mercedes balance shaft, an Audi carbon cleaning and cam follower, a Range Rover that needs the front of the engine opened up — those are machine-shop and engine-builder jobs, and we do the machining on site rather than sending it out and waiting in someone else's queue.

Do you use the factory scan tools?

We run an Autel MaxiSys Ultra S2. On European cars that means bidirectional control, module coding and service functions across BMW, Mercedes, Audi, VW, Porsche and Land Rover — the resets and adaptations most independents have to send you to the dealer for. If a particular job genuinely needs the factory tool, we will tell you on the phone rather than after you have towed the car here.

Will you finish work another shop started?

Often, yes. We will inspect what has been done, tell you plainly what has to be redone and what can stay, and quote it in writing. We will not put our name on someone else's shortcuts without telling you they are there.

Do I get an estimate before you start?

Always, in writing, itemized into parts and labor, before anything comes apart. If what we find changes the plan, you get a call before we keep going — not a surprise at pickup.

Can you tune my European car as well as repair it?

Yes. The AWD Dynojet reads all four wheels, so Audi quattro, 4MATIC and xDrive cars get tuned under real load instead of estimated. Repair and calibration under one roof means the tune is written for the car as it actually sits.
